ACM-W Europe


ACM-W Europe (ACM-WE) is a standing committee of ACM Europe and will work to fulfill the ACM-W mission in Europe. The ACM-WE vision is a transformed European professional and scholarly landscape where women are supported and inspired to pursue their dreams and ambitions to find fulfillment in the computing field.

ACM-WE Activities:

  • Advocate diversity in computing
  • Promote visibility of women in computing
  • Raise awareness of the importance of women being in the computing profession and as ACM Members
  • Address the challenges faced by women in computing
  • Increase participation of women in leadership positions of ACM
  • Raise awareness of career options in computing
  • Collaborate with similar organizations in Europe
  • Share resources, ideas and experiences with the community

Natasa Milic-Frayling, University of Nottingham, UK, named ACM-WE Chair
Reyyan Ayfer becomes Vice Chair of ACM-W

ACM-WE is now partners with IE-WIRE, Informatics Europe's Women in Informatics Research and Education Working Group. Going forward we will endorse, promote and participate in each other's events, and collaborate on projects related to women in computing. We are very excited about our new friends, and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership!
