2026 ACM ASIAN School on High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence

Welcome to the 2026 ACM ASIAN School on HPC and AI ! This year's program focuses on High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and there will also be lectures and hands-on sessions on cutting-edge research in Computational Science. The 2026 ACM ASIAN School on HPC and AI will take place January 30 - February 3, 2026 in Kobe, just after SCA/HPCAsia 2026 in Osaka, Japan. RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) will host the school.

The ACM ASIAN School on HPC and AI is designed for recent postdocs and PhD students in computer science, computational science and related fields and is open to outstanding MSc students. Sixty accepted participants will spend one week in Kobe, attending formal lectures, invited talks, a lecture by Professor Kathy Yelick (University of California, Berkeley), and other activities. The school will cover accommodation expenses in double shared rooms and most of the catering during school hours. Participants from ASEAN countries (excluding Singapore) and countries that receive bilateral Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan may be eligible for airfare support (depending on financial situation and the number of participants). While this school is intended for participants from the Asian region, we welcome participation from all over the world.

All attendees will receive a complimentary ACM student membership upon school completion. During the one-year complimentary membership, students will receive electronic subscriptions to Communications of the ACM, ACM’s flagship magazine, and XRDS, ACM’s magazine written and edited by students for students. Students will also receive access to online books, videos and courses from leading provider Skillsoft on today’s most sought-after job skills. And much more.

The application period will be available between August 8 and September 15 end-of-day (AoE).

Accepted candidates will be informed by October 15.
