Event 2: Castle of Ioannina Guided Tour – A Journey Through History (Wednesday 02/07)

Embark on a captivating two-hour guided tour through the heart of Ioannina's rich past, set within the atmospheric grounds of its historic castle. Our journey begins at the southeastern gate of the Castle, where we'll visit the renowned Museum of Silversmithing, a tribute to the region’s centuries-old artisanal heritage. From there, we’ll explore the Its Kale Acropolis, the castle’s southeastern citadel, once the administrative and military center during Ottoman rule. As we wander through the castle town (Kastro), we’ll uncover layers of history hidden within its stone walls and winding alleys, including a visit to the Jewish quarter, one of the oldest in Greece, rich in cultural and historical significance. The tour concludes at the main gate of the Castle, leaving you with a deeper appreciation of Ioannina’s unique blend of cultures and enduring legacy.
