3rd womENcourage: Register nowACM-W Europe Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage 2016 (http://womencourage.acm.org/) will be held on September 12-13, 2016 at Johannes Kepler University, in Linz Austria. The program is online and will include inspiring keynote speakers, panel discussions, a Career Fair and Posters on both days of the Celebration. Many thanks to our supporters SIGPLAN, GOOGLE, Bloomberg, Oracle, Informatics Europe, Intel and FreeBSD. Supporters provide the funds for our travel scholarships bringing over 50 students to the conference. Do not forget to submit your resume for the career fair!Let our supporters know that you are interested in talking with them at the Career Fair on 24 September. When registering for womENcourage 2015, you have the opportunity to add your name to the CV database. This database is being collected to allow you to inform the supporters in advance that you will be attending the Career Fair. Our supporters - Inria, Google, Oracle, Bloomberg, Cisco, Facebook, Microsoft Research, Informatics Europe, Intel and FreeBSD - are very interested in meeting with you and talking with you. By Poonam Yadav FreeBSD supports Women in ComputingThe FreeBSD Foundation is a 501(c)(3), US based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the FreeBSD Project and community worldwide. Funding comes from individual and corporate donations and is used to fund and manage projects, fund conferences and developer summits, and provide travel grants to FreeBSD contributors. The Foundation also purchases hardware to improve and maintain FreeBSD infrastructure and publishes FreeBSD white papers and marketing material to promote, educate, and advocate for the FreeBSD Project. As part of their mission, FreeBSD Foundation sponsors events like WomENcourage to encourage women to explore opportunities within Open Source and especially within the FreeBSD Project. FreeBSD is a mature open source community that provides the opportunity to learn the details of a technology, improve one’s skills, network with others who share your interest in a technology, and gain real-world experience. The foundation is constantly seeking volunteers with various skill-sets to grow and enhance the FreeBSD Project. From code-related tasks, to assisting with documentation, translation, and advocacy, do reach out if you want to with an active committed community bringing about a better world powered by FreeBSD.
